By Keitha Nelson BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A former employee with the constable's office is behind bars. She's accused of stealing more than $28,000 from the city of Baton Rouge. Constable Reginald Brown says it was Catina Hayman's greed that sparked the investigation. She allegedly lied on her time sheets at work. While looking into that, investigators stumbled on her other alleged activities. Hayman worked at the Baton Rouge Constable Office for more than ten years. Deputies believe between October 2007 and April 2008, she stole more than 28,000 from the city. Hayman accepted payments from people who had civil garnishment judgments, but deputies say some of that money never made it into the right hands.
