(AP) — A Dauphin County judge is being asked to quash subpoenas issued to some of the 15 journalists summoned to testify at a hearing on whether the secrecy of a grand jury investigation was compromised. Lawyers for The Associated Press and The Morning Call of Allentown argue in a motion filed Monday that their reporters’ articles did not reveal the inner workings of the investigation that led to the filing of perjury charges against casino owner Louis DeNaples on Jan. 30. They also argue that Pennsylvania’s “shield law” protects reporters from having to reveal confidential sources in legal proceedings.
