Rene Stutzman | Sentinel Staff Writer A Seminole County jury on Thursday convicted a long-time criminal of first-degree murder for shooting a man to death during an argument in Sanford two years ago. Tristan Hunter, 24, of Sanford, told police he killed Javis Teague, 20, in self-defense. Teague, he said, had started the argument then pulled a handgun. Jurors, though, concluded Hunter was guilty of premeditated first-degree murder. They deliberated two hours before returning a verdict. Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson then sentenced Hunter, 24, of Sanford, to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Teague had been shot three times, police reported.
