Singin' in the Rain storms to No.1

Last Modified: 09 Jun 2008 Source: ITN A remix of Singin' in the Rain by dance outfit Mint Royale has topped the UK singles chart this week. The song stormed to the top of the charts after being used in a dance routine by Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson in the semi-final of the show. The big beat version of the song, which was originally made famous by Gene Kelly, knocked R & B singer Rihanna off the top spot, with her single, Take a Bow coming in at number two in the top 40. Meanwhile Modfather Paul Weller's new album, 22 Dreams, has gone straight to number one in the UK album charts, his ninth solo studio album. Last week's number one album, Here I Stand, by R & B star Usher, fell back to number five in the charts, just behind The Best of Radiohead album, which entered the charts at number four.
