Bikers revving up for CT United Ride

NORWALK By TOM EVANS Hour Staff Writer The CT United Ride, the largest annual Sept. 11 tribute in the state, will hit the road Sunday for the ninth time after a roaring start in Norwalk. Approximately 1,500 motorcycles will rumble out of Norden Industrial Park (10 Norden Place) at about 11:30 a.m. and down Route 136 to Route 33 in Westport, then up Route 7 through Wilton, and onto Route 107 in Georgetown, and on up Route 58 into Redding. After that is a leg to Bethel (Route 302) and through Newtown to Route 25 into and out of Monroe, to Main Street in Trumbull, then to Old Town Road and Park Avenue in Fairfield. Riders will follow Park Avenue into Bridgeport, where the 60-mile trek will end at about 1:15 p.m. under arches made from extended ladders and large American flags, as the Bridgeport Fire Department's Zodiac fireboats...
