Celtic need a captain who's big Down Under

With speculation mounting about whether Stephen McManus will remain Celtic captain under Tony Mowbray, a few eyebrows were raised when the club's official site stated striker Scott McDonald would be given the armband. However, the appointment is only temporary and is certainly a nice touch - though cynics may suggest it could be a money-spinner - as Skippy will only be given the role for Celtic's match with Brisbane Roar, nine days from now. McDonald told the official site: "I am absolutely delighted. As a lifelong Celtic supporter, I realise just how great an honour it is to be given the captaincy for this match.
