Open University passes 1 million downloads on iTunes U

A staggering one million items equating to seventeen terabytes of educational content from the Open University has been downloaded in the four months since it joined Apple’s itunes U channel. On 3 June, the Open University joined world renowned universities, including Stanford, MIT and Yale on iTunes U, providing more than 300 items of educational content including videos and sound recordings on topics ranging from Darwinian Theory to foundation Spanish. As one of only three UK and Irish universities on iTunesU, the Open University has been able to actively demonstrate why it is a world leader in quality distance education.
