AMMAN - Jordan and Belgium on Sunday initialled a reciprocal agreement on safeguarding and protecting Jordanian and Belgian investments in the two countries. Belgium's Ambassador to Jordan Jo Indekeu described the agreement as "a way of giving protection for investments on both sides", noting that the accord should be signed by the governments within six months in order to become effective. This step coincided with a visit to the country by a large Belgian business delegation comprising representatives of over 300 companies operating in different sectors. Commenting on the joint commercial exchange between the two countries Indekeu said: "We hope to bring more Jordanian imports to Europe."
