ANTANANARIVO, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Madagascan security structure has been changed with the National gendarmerie been put under the command of the Internal Ministry though it has managed to keep its military status. President Marc Ravalomanana announced the reform here on Friday when he presided over a ceremony to appoint a former director under the Ministry of Defense as the General Staff of the army to replace Razafindralambo Rivo Hanitra, whose present position was unknown. Rakotoarimasy Andre Lucien was appointed as a general of the armed force since January 2005 and promoted as the Director General of Planning under the Ministry of Defense Ministry last January before being General Staff of the army.
