Consumers wary of China-made food By Edson C. Tandoc Jr. Philippine Daily Inquirer MANILA -- Consumers are now wary of buying milk products after the government found at least three China-made milk products sold in the country to be contaminated with the industrial chemical melamine. Sale of milk products plunged by almost 50 percent in the past few weeks in a big supermarket in Quezon City, its store assistant manager Weldon Villanueva told the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Wednesday. “Those assigned to replace items on the shelves of milk products have not much to do now,” Villanueva said, looking at the row devoted to milk products where only a few customers could be seen on Wednesday.
