Malmstrom considered for nuclear command center Montana's U.S. Senators want Malmstrom Air Force base to be considered as a location for a new command center to oversee the nation's nuclear arsenal. Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester met with Air Force Secretary Michael Donley today and asked that Malmstrom be added to the list of possible locations. Malmstrom is currently home to the 341st Missile Wing and oversees and maintains 150 long range nuclear missiles throughout north-central Montana. The Air Force recently decided to consolidate control of the nation's nuclear missions under one command center.
