Deputy shoots Iberia Parish man

Woman was being stabbed in his vehicle Shay Randle • grandle@theadvertiser.com • October 9, 2008 A man in Iberia Parish is dead after a deputy shot and killed him as he was reportedly stabbing a woman inside his vehicle. The incident happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday when Iberia Parish sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a man and a woman fighting in a vehicle on Sugar Oaks Road in Iberia Parish. When deputies arrived, the man and woman were still fighting, according to Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Deputy Wendell Raborn. The man reportedly then held the woman at knifepoint before stabbing her. At least one deputy opened fire on the man, and he died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
