SHREVEPORT, LA - The Lincoln Saltdogs shut down Shreveport on Wednesday, blanking the Sports 3-0 at Fair Grounds Field. The win moves the Saltdogs to 12-7 on the second half of the season. Lincoln starter Jarrett Gardner (8-3) tossed yet another gem, running his personal winning streak to five. The Saltdogs ace threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits and no walks while striking out eight. Three of Shreveport's four hits came in a row with one out in the third inning, but with the bases loaded, Gardner got a popout and a grounder to second to get out of the frame unscathed.
