Hale leaves Flames for Phoenix

(Jeff McIntosh/Canadian Press) Defenceman David Hale signed a two-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes Thursday, ending his tenure with the Calgary Flames. Hale, 27, spent all of last season and part of 2006-07 with Calgary, recording two assists, a minus-2 rating and 56 penalty minutes in 69 regular-season games with the Flames. The Colorado native also registered a minus-2 rating and eight penalty minutes in eight playoff games with Calgary.
