Son Rescues Father From Their Burning House in Orange Mound

Memphis, TN -- A Memphis man saves his father's life by pulling him out of their burning house in Orange Mound. The fire started around 3:00 a.m., July 3, 2008, on Deadrick Avenue. Firefighters say by the time they arrived the home was engulfed in flames. Eyewitness News Everywhere talked to all four of the family members who were inside of the burning house. All of them were able to get out safely, but not without a struggle. Joseph Brittmon told us that he woke up to the smell of smoke and acted quickly to wake up his mother, father, and sister who were sleeping upstairs. Brittmon had to drag his father out of the house because he was hooked up to oxygen and doesn’t get around well.
