Cuban Journalists Elect New Leadership As a prelude to the Eighth Congress of the Cuban Journalists Association (UPEC) taking place July 3-5, the new leadership of the organization was presented on Tuesday. and includes nearly half new members. Tubal Paez Hernandez was reelected as the UPEC president with Jose Antonio Martin Pulido the new first vice president. The other vice presidents are Antonio Molto, Juan Marrero, Aixa Hevia and Barbara Doval. The other seven, non-paid, staff members on the leadership are Gisela Bell, Boris Fuentes, Maribel Acosta, Zenaida Ferrer, Ariel Terrero, Belkis Pérez Cruz and Rosa Miriam Elizalde. The UPEC Congress takes place during the 45th anniversary of the organization and will honor outstanding journalists.
