Laura Robson: Britain's new tennis hope

By Caroline Gammell Andy Murray may have disappointed British fans for another year but there was hope in the junior singles competition – with the rise of 14-year-old Laura Robson. The teenager has secured a place in the quarter finals in the girls' competition, beating top seed Melanie Oudin earlier this week. She was victorious against Dutch girl Lesley Kerhove and now faces ninth seed Bojana Jovanovski in the quarter-finals. Robson, who is the highest ranked 14-year-old in the world and the number two junior in Britain, has been described as "one to watch" by Roger Draper, chief executive of the Lawn Tennis Association. She is being carefully protected on her way to the top and was not allowed to give a press conference after her late win on Wednesday night because "it was past her bed-time".
