Petra came to Newstin as a taxonomy development expert for our German portal. Over the past year and a half that she has been on the team she has moved up to run our taxonomy development team where she now holds the position of Manager. Petra manages the development and maintenance of the entire Newstin taxonomy structure, in all 10 languages, as well as still focuses on the German edition.

Petra has introduced a new organization and categorization management process for the addition of companies, people, and regions to the Newstin system. She is responsible for a 600% growth of our taxonomy by categories. Outside of her taxonomy work Petra is versed in macro writing which proves to be very helpful to her communication with our IT development team about algorithms.

In a nutshell, Petra is the person that wants to categorize the entire world, and with 650,000 categories under her belt she has a pretty good start.

Previous to working at Newstin Petra was a Czech and German language teacher and translator.

Petra holds two masters degrees from Charles University in Prague; Masters degree in German and Czech language and literature, and Masters degree in Didactics (methodology and psychology of teaching). She is fluent in English, German and Czech.
